Join us an ASPIRE PhD Career Stories with Afrida Rahman-Enyart, Senior Marketing Manager at Proteintech. In this session, Afrida will share her journey from academic neuroscience to industry, highlighting how scientists can transition into roles in scientific liaison work, product strategy, and marketing within the life sciences. She will discuss what these careers look like day-to-day, the skills that translate from research to industry, and practical advice for trainees interested in exploring non-academic paths.
BIO: Afrida Rahman-Enyart is a Senior Marketing Manager at Proteintech, where she leads U.S. marketing initiatives and develops educational and strategic programs for the life science research community. She is a neurodevelopmental biologist by training and completed dual PhDs in Neuroscience and Psychology from Indiana University–Bloomington in 2019. She then pursued a postdoctoral fellowship at Northwestern University studying the neuromechanisms of pelvic pain. In 2022, Afrida transitioned from academia to industry and now enjoys sharing her experiences and practical advice with others exploring similar career paths.
