2026 McKinsey Recruiting Program for APD Candidates
Consulting firm McKinsey & Co is looking for APD candidates to begin their career journey.
Advanced Professional Degree (APD) candidates are those working toward the following degrees: PhD (including postdocs), MD (including medical interns, residents, and fellows), JD, PharmD, etc. Non-MBA Master candidates must have at least four years in between the completion of their undergraduate degree and graduate degree to be qualified for the full-time Associate position. If you are a Master candidate with less than four years between your two degrees, please consider McKinsey’s full-time Business Analyst position.

The Connect with APD form is designed to help Advanced Professional Degree students create early connections with our colleagues and learn more about our recruiting process for full-time roles starting 2027. You will receive invitations to our recruiting events and newsletters with recruiting resources. This helps us get to know you better ahead of your application.

Insight 2026
Our Insight program is an in-person 2.5 days workshop highlighting what it’s like working in management consulting. You will learn about who we are and the work we do, work together on a mock McKinsey case, and build lasting connections with both participants and McKinsey colleagues. Attendees will also learn about the path to join us full-time as Associates post-program. We welcome students who are pursuing a PhD, postdoc, MD (including medical interns, residents and fellows), and PharmD to apply. Applications for our annual Insight program are currently being accepted through March 25th, 2026.
In order to be considered for Insight you must indicate interest in the program through the Connect with APD 2026 Interest Form by March 25,2026. Insight will take place in Chicago on April 30th-May 2nd, 2026.

Full-time Associate Applications
Students who have already graduated or will be graduating by October 2026 are welcome to submit an Associate application at any time. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
Applicants should be able to start in the role approximately 90 days post-submission date. Please time your submission accordingly.
For students graduating from December 2026 through Fall 2027 (looking to join the firm full-time in 2027), we are finalizing our application deadline. Please check our APD website for updates.
