Are you passionate about science and medicine and a first-class communicator or storyteller? If so, then we want to hear from you…

We’re looking for high-caliber, well-rounded, aspiring medical writers to join our award-winning training program, allegro.WRITE.

allegro: learn, practice, consolidate, excel

allegro.WRITE is a 12-month, fast-track training program with proven results. Successful candidates will join Ashfield Health as a full-time Associate Medical Writer. The 12-month program comprises a 2-month, intensive core-skill training period, followed by two 5-month rotations. During each rotation, as an allegro.WRITE Associate Medical Writer, you will learn by working alongside some of the most talented people in the industry. As a fully integrated team member, you will help deliver contemporary, multichannel medical communication solutions across a range of therapy areas. After 12 months, if you successfully complete the program, you will graduate allegro.WRITE and join one of our esteemed teams as a Medical Writer.

We have capacity in our Chicago, Connecticut and New York offices and prefer team members to be in person if they are located near an office. However, recruiting the best candidates is our priority and if you are not located within commuting distance of one of our offices, working remotely is an option. Currently, the first 8 weeks of the core-skills training will be run primarily virtually. Please note that the program will operate on eastern time.

What experience do I need?

To be considered for allegro.WRITE, you must have a doctoral level educational background in the life sciences or related scientific fields and be able to understand complex scientific and clinical information. You will be highly motivated with a passion to create and communicate compelling scientific content in diverse formats. You will also have a strong attention to detail. No previous writing experience is necessary: we provide extensive training, development, and mentoring. As one of our writers, you will benefit from a clear path for advancement, diverse project work, competitive salary and benefits, and opportunities to travel.

What is the recruitment process?

Due to COVID-19, our recruitment has been adapted to an online process. Apply by submitting a CV and cover letter; your cover letter should be less than 500 words and highlight your skills, passions, and relevant experience.

We are now accepting applications, which will be reviewed on a rolling basis through the end of September. Candidates with appropriate backgrounds will be asked to take a formal writing assessment. Those who demonstrate good core writing skills will then be invited to a two-day online Assessment Center, which will be taking place in November. The online Assessment Center will include group activities and an interview; there will also be sessions in the day that provide opportunities for you to find out more about allegro.WRITE. Successful candidates will start the allegro.WRITE program on January 10, 2022.
