Henriette Herz Scouting Programme
Have you long since made a name for yourself in your discipline? Or are you at the beginning of a promising executive research career? Are you also well-connected internationally and have already mentored junior researchers? Then the Henriette Herz Scouting Programme could be the right one for you. We specifically want to recruit researchers as scouts who already have their own international network and would like to expand their team to include an excellent Humboldt Research Fellow. Two programme lines invite applications from both up-and-coming academics, who are (junior) professors or group leaders, as well as established researchers. We particularly welcome applications from individuals who have not been connected with the Humboldt Foundation to date.
The programme is aimed at outstanding postdoctoral and experienced researchers:
Postdocs:
* PhD awarded within the past 4 years
* Fellowship duration: 6-24 months
* Monthly stipend: €2,700
Experienced researchers:
* PhD awarded within the past 12 years
* Fellowship duration: 6-18 month
* Monthly stipend: €3,200
In addition to the monthly stipend, the fellowship includes mobility and family allowances, as well as further support measures. There is also a monthly research allowance of €800 for project-related expenses.
Key eligibility criteria:
* PhD obtained outside Germany; no long-term research stays here after the PhD
* Excellent publications appropriate to career stage
* Good command of English or German
* Fellowship start within 12 months of award
Our project:
In my group, we investigate T-cell immunometabolism, focusing on metabolic mechanisms that regulate immune responses during infections. We explore host–pathogen interactions, how targeted metabolic changes can steer T-cell function, and novel strategies to modulate immune responses, with the aim of translating basic research into clinical applications.Target group:
We particularly welcome applications from motivated early-career researchers with expertise in bioinformatics, molecular biology, mouse genetics, immunology, cell biology, infection biology, or related disciplines.
If you are interested or have any questions, please feel free to contact me. I would also be grateful if you could share this information with suitable candidates in your network.
