Posted by on Wednesday, September 17, 2025 in Workshops and Seminars .

Molly Seale earned her PhD in Cell and Cancer Biology at Vanderbilt studying cell adhesion proteins. With over 20 years in Medical and Scientific Affairs, she excels at engaging clinicians, leading teams, launching new therapeutic products, and driving successful clinical trials.

In this candid talk, Molly will share the untold story behind her career in Industry—highlighting the roles she didn’t get, the setbacks that stung, and the surprising ways rejection became a driving force for growth. Designed for PhD candidates and postdocs navigating uncertain futures, this session unpacks the stigma around failure in science and celebrates its often-overlooked power to shape a meaningful, resilient career (and life).

Currently, Molly leads the Insights Transformation workstream in AbbVie’s Medical Affairs & Health Impact Department, where she is integrating next-gen AI systems to help make smarter strategic decisions for patients and providers. Since 2022, she has focused on Phase 1 – 3 clinical trial acceleration activities, currently serving as Global Pipeline Excellence Lead on the Medical Engagement team. Her work spans Hematology, Solid Tumors, Immunology, Neuroscience, and Infectious Diseases. She has also played a key role in integrating several acquired companies into AbbVie’s people and process frameworks. She was previously a MSL Regional Director for Dermatology and the Regional and Interim National Director for Oncology Solid Tumor Pipeline MSLs at AbbVie. Her career began as a contract Medical Liaison, followed by work at Amgen as a Medical Liaison and Regional MSL Director. She is a champion for new technologies, innovation and hands on training, and looks for opportunities to drive strategic collaboration to benefit patients worldwide.

Molly still lives in Nashville with her husband, Kevin, and their four kids. She loves the Bluebird Café, Green Hills Y, hiking at Radnor Lake, and is currently honing her pickleball skills.
