The Department of Biochemistry at the University of Mississippi Medical Center (UMMC) is seeking applicants for a tenure track faculty position at either the Assistant or Associate Professor rank.  We seek a talented investigator who will expand the research repertoire of the department (http://www.umc.edu/biochemistry/) in basic science or translational research.  A successful candidate must have a PhD or MD degree and is expected to develop an innovative research program, obtain external funding and contribute to our teaching mission in the Medical, Dental and Graduate programs.  The Biochemistry Department offers a fully funded, 12-month salary and a competitive startup package.

UMMC is a vibrant, competitive research-intensive institution with basic science and clinical departments plus interdepartmental research institutes/centers focused on cancer, neuroscience, cardiac/renal function and obesity.
