Have you ever wondered what it would be like to work in tech transfer at a university, or to be part of a consulting firm doing competitive intelligence for the pharma industry or a business development team evaluating new partners? Market analysis drives decisions all across pharma and biotech to startups. Determining what is the total market, the total addressable market and your specific market can help make decisions from company strategy and mergers and acquisitions to licensing, product launch and clinical trial design.

Please join the ASPIRE Program as we host a job simulation workshop on market analysis in partnership with the Vanderbilt University Center for Technology Transfer and Commercialization (CTTC). Technology transfer professionals will provide an overview about performing market analysis to put this skill into context. Next, under their guidance, you will work in groups to craft a non-confidential disclosure (NCD) and perform market research for a new invention. In the second session, you will present your findings to the group share feedback and discuss the process together.
This exercise is intended to help you decide if a career path in which market analysis is a critical component aligns with your skills and interests and is a valuable way to learn more before you invest significant time and energy into completing an internship or seeking additional training.
Join us for this 2-part interactive workshop on Wednesday, October 26 and Wednesday, November 2 from 1-3pm. Please plan to attend both sessions, as there will be group work that builds off the first session.
