Info Session: Vertex Pharmaceuticals, May 3
Join us for an Employer Informational Session featuring Vertex Pharmaceuticals on Thursday, May 3, at 10:30am, in Light Hall 512.
Registration strongly recommended.
Vertex will provide a quick info session / Q&A, and then leave the rest of the day to meet with any interested students or postdocs to discuss research, careers, and beyond. Attendees are encouraged to bring CVs or resumes to the session.
The info session will feature Tim Senter, Research Scientist II in Medicinal Chemistry; Leslie Dakin, Associate Director of Medical Chemistry; and Peter Jones, Director of Chemistry.

About Tim Senter:
I graduated with a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from St. Lawrence University in 2010, and then moved on to Vanderbilt University to begin my Ph.D. studies in organic chemistry in the lab of Prof. Craig Lindsley. During my time there I performed research in organic synthesis methodology, natural products total synthesis, and medicinal chemistry. After graduating in 2015, I pursued a postdoctoral fellowship at MIT with Prof. Stephen Buchwald studying bioconjugation chemistry and the design and synthesis of antibody-drug conjugates. In 2016 I started at Vertex as a research scientist in medicinal chemistry. I believe that I owe a lot to the interdisciplinary research experience that is really unique to Vanderbilt and VUMC, and exposure to this type of environment is becoming increasingly desirable to biotech and pharmaceutical companies.
