What made you decide to become a doctor?

I wanted to use applied science to directly help people with their problems

How did you decide on your specialty?

I like mechanical problems and using my hands fix things. There is amazing immediate satisfaction with solving orthopaedic pathologies.

What do you wish you knew when you started medical school?

Deciding to become a doctor is just the first decision! There are wayyyy more decisions on what kind, what to do, etc. after that.

What is your favorite thing about your Vanderbilt experience?

Getting to go to school in Nashville. Great work/life balance during medical school.

What is your best piece of advice for an incoming first year medical student at Vandy?

Go to Shade Tree as much as possible early on in your time here.

What is your favorite memory from the past four years?

Going to Peru with my fiancée an hour after we got engaged.

What is your most embarrassing moment from medical school?

Being showed up on the mechanism of ACEI by 3 first years 3 months into their year when I was a 3rd year student.
