The Bioinformatics Interest Group Mixer is an event hosted by the Student Technology Committee (VSTC) and the Department of Biomedical Informatics (DBMI) connecting medical students with Biomedical Informatics faculty. Over an informal dinner, faculty offer their personal journey in discovering informatics as well as explore what the future of the field in informatics may hold. Students are given the chance to discuss their interests and ask questions in a small, personal setting. The collaborative and collegial atmosphere of the medical school and medical center, particularly with the enthusiasm from DBMI, allows students to foster relationships with world-class physicians and researchers.
