James Bathon
Rising M2, MD
Hometown: Small suburb of NYC

  • Hi y’all! My name is James, a rising M2 here at Vandy. I am from a small suburb of New York City, and I graduated with a degree in Chemical Engineering in 2020 from Notre Dame (GO IRISH!). Outside of class, I have been involved in a lot of different VUSM organizations, but I also love playing/watching sports, working out, community service, and almost anything history. The spirited community here is unmatched and I can’t wait to welcome y’all to it!

Tori Tong
Rising M2, MD
Hometown: Sydney, Australia

  • Hi y’all!  My name is Tori and I’m a rising M2 MD student hailing from Sydney, Australia!  I majored in neuroscience with a music minor at Harvard and spent two years working in an immunology/neuro wet lab before med school. In my free time, catch me biking all over Nashville, trying out new recipes, hiking, and hanging out with friends!

Our best advice from experience is to rest and not over-stress about the beginning of medical school. Also, stay on top of your No Later Than (NLT) dates for action items listed in your email; believe us, you want to get as many administrative tasks out of the way before classes begin.
