Hey! I’m James. Following my experience at such a passionate place as Notre Dame, I wanted to find somewhere spirited for medical school. During my gap year, I really researched programs and became drawn to how passionate and spirited students, faculty, and staff were to be part of VUSM. Add in the unique curriculum, early experiential learning and patient care, opportunities for community service, and Nashville, and I was sold. Mission remains an important value to me, and I loved the opportunity to get involved at Shade Tree Clinic to serve those most in need while also working with Social Mission Committee to make us more compassionate and understanding future physicians. I hope you’ll let me tell you more and sell you on coming to VUSM!

Fun fact about me: After years of icebreakers, I have perfected my answer to the question: “If you could only eat one meal for the rest of your life, what would it be?” Easy. Boneless baked ham, steamed carrots, and a Japanese Red Sweet Potato with chocolate milk.
