Hi! My name is LeAnn, and I am so excited to tell you more about VUSM. After graduating from Utah (Go Utes), I spent a gap year here at Vanderbilt doing clinical research in OB/GYN. I loved it so much, I decided to stay for medical school. Doing clinical rotations in my second year allowed me to gain early exposure to other fields beyond OB/GYN, allowing for plenty of time to explore other specialties for the rest of my time here. I’ve gained real interest in anesthesiology and emergency medicine, and I’ve been able to participate in activities like Wilderness Med to further explore the latter in a different way. I’ve also been involved with the Wellness Committee, AAMC Organization of Student Representatives (MedEd initiatives), and the Asian-Pacific American Medical Student Association (APAMSA). At Vanderbilt, we have ample time to both enjoy learning about different specialties and get involved in the medical community. It’s great!
Fun fact about me: I love Jeni’s Ice Cream, specifically the cream puff flavor in a waffle cone!
