Graduate Student, Niswender Laboratory

I am from Belmont, New Hampshire and attended college at the University of New Hampshire where I received my B.S. in Biochemistry & Molecular/Cellular Biology in May of 2022. Following completion of my first year at Vanderbilt in the IG program, I joined the lab of Dr. Colleen Niswender, where my project focuses on the role of Metabotropic Glutamate Receptor 7 (mGlu7) as a modifier gene of cognitive deficits associated with the neurodevelopmental disease Neurofibromatosis Type 1 (NF1).

Some of my interests outside of the lab include outdoor activities such as hiking and fishing, as well as playing ice hockey; I currently play for the Vanderbilt University club ice hockey team. Following completion of my Ph.D., I hope to work in industry on drug discovery and development of novel therapeutics.
