Lauren Parr

Graduate Student, Lindsley Laboratory

Lauren earned a Bachelor of Arts in Biology from the University of Kansas in 2019. In 2021, Lauren joined the Warren Center for Neuroscience Drug Discovery (WCNDD) at Vanderbilt University where she concurrently worked in the molecular pharmacology department while attaining a Master of Science in Microbiology and Cell Science from the University of Florida. At the WCNDD, under the mentorship of Dr. Craig Lindsley and Dr. Valerie Kramlinger, she is investigating the role of thousand-and-one kinases (TAOK) in Alzheimer’s disease and driving the development of small molecule inhibitors. With an interest in drug metabolism and pharmacokinetic (DMPK) principles, Lauren’s research centers on how these factors influence the drug discovery process. Her work exemplifies a multidisciplinary approach, combining her pharmacology knowledge with a strong foundation in biology and microbiology.
