Job Opportunity: Equity Research Associate
Associate to work with Cowen and Company’s Specialty Pharmaceuticals Equity Research Team in New York City. Equity research analysts follow the progress of public pharmaceutical companies and make stock recommendations to institutional investor clients. Job tasks include analyzing clinical trials and scientific data, financial modeling, interviews with physician experts and company management teams, conducting surveys, scientific literature reviews, hosting industry conferences, writing reports, and making oral presentations. This position is ideal for someone with a passion and background in both science and investing who wants to become better skilled at applying their knowledge towards generating good investment ideas.

Responsibilities:
Support senior analysts and work together with the team.
Analyze individual specialty pharma companies and market trends.
Compose company-specific and thematic research reports..
Build and maintain financial models.
Interview physicians and company executives.
Interact with Cowen’s institutional sales force and investor clients.
Qualifications:
Exceptional academic pedigree, including a higher degree in a life science-related field (MS, MD or PhD).
Outstanding analytical skills. Ability to do deep primary research, analyze and draw conclusions from information.
Good verbal and written communication skills. Ability to perform in a team environment.
Financial modeling skills.
Hard work ethic, attention to detail, desire to learn about the pharmaceutical industry.
A passion for investing.
