Job Posting: Tenure-Track Position in Energy Metabolism
The Diabetes, Endocrinology, and Obesity Branch of the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases (NIDDK), National Institutes of Health (NIH) is seeking an outstanding clinician-scientist with an MD degree to direct a vigorous, innovative patient-oriented research program focused on obesity, diabetes, and energy metabolism. The applicant is expected to initiate clinical and translational protocols to elucidate the genetic, physiologic, and/or environmental factors affecting metabolism and/or energy homeostasis. The applicant should be board eligible in Internal Medicine and in Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism and have prior research experience. The position offers opportunities for interdisciplinary collaboration within NIDDK and throughout NIH and includes participation in the Interinstitute Endocrinology Training Program. The resources of the NIH Clinical Center, including metabolic chambers, are available for use by the successful applicant. Applicants must also have mentoring skills and work well in a collaborative environment. The position will be supported with independent resources commensurate with experience and programmatic needs.
