Job Opportunity: Professor, Biology, Whittier College
The Biology Department at Whittier College is accepting applications for two Visiting Professor appointments in Biology starting September 2014. Candidates must have broad training in biology, and will demonstrate a commitment to undergraduate teaching excellence. Whittier College is a residential four-year liberal arts institution that prepares students from diverse backgrounds to excel in a complex global society. The Biology Department seeks to provide broad training in the Biological Sciences, preparing students for a variety of careers including within the education, research, health, or business sectors.
Position 1: This one-year, full-time visiting position will be responsible for teaching General Biology, Introductory Cell and Molecular Biology, and an upper-level biology course, preferably in the area of Cell and Molecular Biology.
Position 2: This two-year, full-time visiting position will be responsible for teaching a year-long sequence in Human Anatomy and Physiology, Introductory Organismal Biology, and an upperlevel biology course in the organismal or population areas.
