Job Description
- Keeps the Director of office informed of important changes in Portfolio Analysis methods, techniques, and theory.
- Serves as a subject matter expert (SME) in the development, advancement, and application of portfolio analysis.
- Participates in the training program by developing course content, training materials, and providing training and support for institute staff.
- Contributes to planning and maintaining state-of-the-art portfolio analysis of biomedical data, information, and knowledge integration tools and processes.
- Maintains knowledge of pedagogical approaches relevant to effective training in portfolio analysis tools and best practices.
- Solicits input and provides feedback and recommendations to Division and Office of the Director leadership regarding ongoing HHS and Institute issues.
- Supports trans-NIH cooperation, collaboration, and knowledge exchange with other Institute entities for effective use of scientific portfolio analysis resources.
Basic Qualifications
- Extensive experience in biological science, in the context of medical research in fields such as Public Health, Epidemiology, Biotechnology, Genetics, Anatomy, Physiology, Pharmacology, Microbiology, etc.
- Understanding of, and/or experience in Teaching (classroom and online)
- Experience with Computer based analytical tools; Public Health concepts, epidemiology and Biostatistics; Research protocols; Scientific portfolio analysis
- Experience in IT and data analysis skills will be required (data mining, network analysis, learning management software)
- Proficiency with the Microsoft office suite also is necessary (MS Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint).
Desired skills
- PhD Strongly Preferred
- Extensive experience quantitative and qualitative evaluation including activities involving the collection, organization, analysis, preparation, processing, and reporting of large volumes of scientific information.
- Experience with Grants processes and mechanisms
- Extensive experience in working with Grants processes and mechanisms
- Knowledge and understanding in quantitative and qualitative evaluation activities involved in the collection, organization, analysis, preparation, processing, and reporting of large volumes of scientific information
- Knowledge and understanding in quantitative and qualitative evaluation activities involved in the collection, organization, analysis, preparation, processing, and reporting of large volumes of scientific information
