FDA’s Center for Biologics Evaluation & Research, Office of Vaccines Research and Review, seeks a Senior Staff Fellow (Tenure Track equivalent) within the Laboratory of Enteric and Sexually Transmitted Diseases (LESTD) to develop an independent research program in the area of molecular biology, genetics, and immunology of enteric diseases. The LESTD is actively engaged in research on a variety of enteric bacterial infections and related model systems. In addition to laboratory research, the candidate will perform regulatory review of licensed and experimental enteric vaccines and novel treatment modalities. 

Qualifications: 
Eligible individuals must be U.S. citizens or non-U.S. citizens holding a valid U.S. employment visa; must have a Ph.D. or equivalent degree (e.g., M.D., DVM, or Sc.D.) plus no less than 2 years of post-doctoral experience. Candidate must either have been awarded their doctoral degrees in a bio-medical, behavioral, or related science or have been certified by a university as meeting all the requirements leading to such a doctorate. The candidate will have research experience in microbiology, bacterial pathogenesis, cell biology, or immunology. Experience with Clostridium difficile and/or the human gut microbiota preferred but not required.

Location: 
The position will be located on FDA White Oak campus, Silver Spring, MD, beginning mid-2014.
