Fulbright U.S. Scholar Program
The competition for academic year 2015-2016 launched in February, and this year Belgium is offering a Postdoctoral-Junior Research Award in Cancer Clinical and Translational Research. My organization, the Council for International Exchange of Scholars, administers the Fulbright Scholar Program on behalf of the U.S. Department of State Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs. We would appreciate the opportunity to share this news with postdoc researchers on your campus.
This opportunity is open to early-career academics and appropriately qualified professionals outside of academia, including but not limited to economists interested in health technology assessment, epidemiologists, bioinformaticians, physicians, statisticians, and molecular biologists with a specialization in genomics. A PhD is not required, and while some knowledge of French/Dutch would be useful, English is sufficient.
The selected candidate will spend twelve months at the European Organization for Research and Treatment of Cancer (EORTC), a leading cancer therapy and research center based in Brussels. He/she will receive training in the methodology of cancer clinical and translational research using data from EORTC databases, as well as gain valuable hands-on experience writing, performing, and managing drug development clinical trials. He/she will also be in direct contact with key opinion leaders in Brussels.
