The Wesleyan Biology Department is seeking to fill a tenure-track position beginning July 1, 2015. We seek an individual who uses genomic approaches to address core questions of biological function. The individual will integrate approaches such as developmental or comparative genomics, systems modeling, or other complementing analyses to study cellular and tissue mechanisms in the context of the organism. The individual will contribute to existing department areas of strength in cell/development, neuroscience, or evolution/ecology. Wesleyan is a selective liberal-arts university in which a research-active faculty provides exceptional undergraduate teaching as well as graduate training. The departmental Ph.D. and interdisciplinary programs foster a stimulating research environment supported by core facilities that include advanced microscopy and high-performance computing centers. Candidates must have a Ph.D., postdoctoral experience, and be prepared to launch an independent laboratory-based research program funded by extramural grants. Teaching will be at undergraduate and graduate levels in the field of genomics and related areas and may include a research project-oriented laboratory course.
