The Biological Sciences Department at New York City College of Technology (City Tech) of the City University of New York (CUNY) is composed of a diverse group of faculty members with an impressive combination of backgrounds and specialties. In order to support its baccalaureate program in Biomedical Informatics, the department seeks candidates for tenure track Biological Sciences openings in the following specific fields: Anatomy/Physiology and Pathophysiology. The position requires a commitment to teaching, scholarly research resulting in publications and presentations, sustained service to the department and college, and academic advisement. Courses to be taught will depend on faculty specialty, and will include courses in introductory biology, anatomy & physiology, and pathophysiology. Research work with undergraduates is strongly encouraged.
The successful candidate will be expected to perform teaching, research and guidance duties in area(s) of expertise, and share responsibility for committee and department assignments including administrative, supervisory, and other functions.

QUALIFICATIONS

Candidates must have a Ph.D. in an appropriate discipline in Anatomy & Physiology, Pathophysiology, or a related field in Biomedical Sciences; or an M.D. with relevant experience in the identified fields. Also required are the ability to teach successfully, demonstrated scholarship or achievement, and ability to cooperate with others for the good of the institution. Teaching experience is highly desired, preferably with multicultural students in an urban environment. Preference will be given to candidates with expertise in curriculum development, use of innovative instructional methods, and significant grant writing experience. Current research in the fields identified is required. Candidates should have good communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a team.
