The Department of Animal Biology and the Mari Lowe Center for Comparative Oncology Research at the University of Pennsylvania, School of Veterinary Medicine are soliciting applications for a TENURE-TRACK faculty position at the Assistant Professor level. 

Applications from exceptional individuals at more senior academic ranks will also be considered.  The Department and Center have a strong commitment to basic research in cancer biology, tumor microenvironment, and translational medicine in oncology.  The School is located at the heart of the University’s Philadelphia campus in a highly interactive biomedical research environment including the Abramson Cancer Center of the Perelman School of Medicine.  Candidates with research interests in all areas of basic and translational research in cancer biology/oncology including tumor microenvironment, mechanisms of metastasis, tumor biomechanics, tumor metabolism, tumor immunology, cancer genetics/epigenetics and cancer stem cells are encouraged to apply. Investigators with specific interests in studying spontaneous cancer models in animals are especially encouraged to apply.

Applicants must have a Ph.D., MD, VMD/DVM or equivalent degree and productive postdoctoral training. The successful applicant will receive a substantial start-up package, state-of-the-art research space, will have full access to advanced technologies platforms at numerous core facilities within the Abramson Cancer Center, and resources of Biomedical Graduate Group and Biomedical Post-doctoral Program at the University of Pennsylvania. The applicant will be expected to develop and lead an outstanding extramurally funded research program.
