Health Program Associate, Kenneth Rainin Foundation, Oakland, CA
The Kenneth Rainin Foundation is seeking an enthusiastic and highly motivated Program Associate for our Health program. The Rainin Foundation supports cutting-edge research projects that are potentially transformative to diagnosing, treating and curing Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD).
The Program Associate will report to the Program Officer for Health to support the full range of the Foundation's grantmaking in health. This full-time position will also work closely with programs, communications, and the grants management staff as well as members of the finance team. The Program Associate will assist with: developing and administrating the Foundation’s medical research grant programs; planning an annual Scientific Research Symposium; maintaining and updating the website; preparing materials for board meetings.
The ideal candidate will have strong project-management skills, excellent oral and written communication skills, a demonstrated ability to juggle multiple projects simultaneously, be highly detail-oriented, flexible and have the ability to work comfortably in a changing work environment. At graduate degree is preferred in the biomedical sciences or public health, and at least three years of relevant experience in academic research institution and/or philanthropic organizations.
The position is located in Oakland, CA and may involve some travel.
