Work as a Writing Consultant for the Writing Studio
The Writing Studio is currently accepting applications from graduate students who would like to work as writing consultants or writing fellows during the 2016-2017 academic year. Open positions include:
Graduate Writing Consultant
Each year the Writing Studio hires a number of graduate students from all divisions of the University to work as writing consultants. Consultants can work 5 to 15 hours per week, facilitating writing consultations with undergraduate and graduate students.
College of Arts and Science Fellow
Each year the Writing Studio hires one advanced graduate student in the College of Arts and Science to serve as a Graduate Writing Fellow. The Fellow holds 15 hours of one-to-one appointments with graduate and undergraduate students per week and coordinates the writing workshop program, the Undergraduate Writing Symposium, and various other educational programs.
Peabody Writing Fellow
Each year Writing Studio hires one advanced Peabody graduate student to serve as a Graduate Writing Fellow. The Fellow holds 15 hours per week of one-to-one appointments with graduate and undergraduate students and organizes writing workshops and various other educational programs.
Applications can be submitted to writing.studio.hiring@vanderbilt.edu, and are due Friday March 4 at noon.
Interested applicants must provide:
1. a letter demonstrating specific interest in and dedication to the teaching of writing,
2. a curriculum vitae,
3. a writing sample of no more than 20 pages,
4. a letter of recommendation from an adviser or other faculty member,
5. a statement from a departmental Director of Graduate Studies verifying availability for employment in the Writing Studio.
