Genetics of Aging (Bar Harbor, Maine, United States):

Assistant, Associate or Full Professor – Aging Genetics Faculty members will run independent labs for relevant biomedical research on the biology of aging and age-associated diseases, will participate in The Jackson Laboratory’s aging programs, and will mentor graduate students, postdoctoral associates and research staff, in a collaborative and supportive environment.

Genomic Medicine (Farmington, Connecticut, United States )

The Jackson Laboratory for Genomic Medicine in Farmington, Connecticut is inviting applications for Assistant, Associate, and Full Professors. The campus is dedicated to advancing precision medicine using genomic strategies to understand the complex functional networks underlying health and disease, and the development of novel diagnostics and therapeutics. We are seeking individuals to join our interactive culture of cooperation and program integration.  Areas for recruitment include:

Mammalian Genetics (Bar Harbor, Maine, United States): 

The Jackson Laboratory for Mammalian Genetics, in Bar Harbor, Maine, is inviting applications for Assistant, Associate and Full Professors. Faculty on the Bar Harbor campus use genetic and genomic approaches to conduct basic research on fundamental biological problems and mechanisms of disease with emphasis on the mouse as a model system. Faculty members are being recruited for research in diverse areas, including:

Cancer Research ((Bar Harbor, Maine and Farmington, Connecticut, United States )

 The Jackson Laboratory is inviting applications for Assistant, Associate and Full Professors in Cancer Research at both The Jackson Laboratory for Mammalian Genetics campus in Bar Harbor, Maine, and The Jackson Laboratory for Genomic Medicine campus in Farmington, Connecticut.

The Jackson Laboratory (JAX) is an independent, nonprofit biomedical research institution and features a National Cancer Institute-designated Cancer Center. JAX is a highly collaborative environment that fosters multidisciplinary approaches to investigate complex biological questions. Our cancer center faculty use genetic and genomic approaches to conduct basic and translational research on fundamental biological processes in cancer using mouse models and human studies.

We are seeking faculty who are taking computational, molecular, genomic, cellular, organismal and/or systems approaches in the following research areas:

• Progenitor cell biology
Current research in the JAX Cancer Center includes cellular and genomic defects in tumor repopulating cells; the stem and progenitor cell-of-origin for cancer; epigenetic control of cell fate determination and its role in malignancy

• Cancer immunology
Current research in the JAX Cancer Center includes tumor-immune system interaction and its relevance to cancer therapy; the immune microenvironment and its effect on tumor development; hematologic cancers

• Mechanisms of cancer progression and evolution
Current research in the JAX Cancer Center includes mechanisms of tumor evolution; genomic and genetic instability in cancer; mechanisms and consequences of tumor heterogeneity; genetics of host-tumor interactions

• Mechanisms of drug action and therapy resistance
Current research in the JAX Cancer Center includes biology of de novo and acquired therapy resistance; influence of microenvironment on therapy response or resistance; genetics of host sensitivity to cancer therapeutics

• Cancer model development
Current research in the JAX Cancer Center includes development of novel cancer models, especially new xenograft platforms and technologies; innovative uses of genome editing technologies to build cancer models; use of complex genetic tools for cancer discovery; application of models to test novel cancer therapies
