Vanderbilt Programs for Talented Youth accepting instructors

Posted by on Friday, September 2, 2016 in Uncategorized .

Vanderbilt Programs for Talented Youth is beginning the process of selecting summer 2017 courses. The mission of PTY is to develop talent in gifted students and those who work with them, and we do this through offering highly accelerated courses for students as young as first grade all the way up through rising seniors in high school. Most of our classes are taught by professors and PhD students, experts who challenge and mentor these students within the framework of a summer program. Our students benefit from learning from experts, and our instructors gain classroom experience and the chance to reach out to the next generation of scholars. PTY classes cover a wide variety of disciplines ranging from free verse poetry and knot theory to bioengineering and physics.

We will accept instructor applications beginning September 7 and will begin submission review on September 25. To learn more about the process of proposing a class, visit our website at pty.vanderbilt.edu/teach or send an email to David J. Dunn (david.j.dunn@vanderbilt.edu).
