Tenure-Track Assistant Professor of Neuroscience

As part of an initiative to enhance course offerings and undergraduate research opportunities in Neuroscience, the College of Sciences and Mathematics at Belmont University is seeking applications for a tenure-track faculty position in Neuroscience at the rank of Assistant Professor beginning August 1, 2017. Applicants must have a Ph.D. in Neuroscience or related field. Postdoctoral experience is preferred. The successful candidate will be committed to excellent teaching in an undergraduate Neuroscience program while developing an active and interdisciplinary undergraduate research program. Teaching responsibilities will consist of a 24 credit hour teaching load over two semesters each academic year.  Courses taught will include an introductory neuroscience course as well as advanced courses like cognitive psychology, physiological psychology, neural and/or electrophysiology, neural anatomy or other elective topics aligned with the candidate’s area of expertise. The successful candidate may also contribute to University Core offerings as well as study-abroad offerings during Belmont’s Maymester. We anticipate that this position will be housed within the Department of Psychological Sciences but the successful candidate will help lead a growing interdisciplinary Neuroscience program that engages faculty from both Biology and Psychology Departments.
