Check out Vanderbilt Students Volunteer for Science (VSVS)

Posted by on Thursday, December 7, 2017 in Uncategorized .

Having some time away from research is important. Getting to visit a local middle school and show kids how to do the experiments that inspired us? That's just fun. Only having to do two hours a week while getting a very good-looking resume for fellowships? That's just smart. Vanderbilt Student Volunteers for Science (VSVS) is an outreach program that's available fall and spring semester. We go to local middle schools with quick lessons to teach students an introduction to various subjects in science- some of which involve small explosions, building racetracks, and playing with glow-sticks and bouncy balls. We even have one-day events that can be done if you know next semester is going to be intense.

If you want more information or want to be joined in a possible mailing list for one-day events, you can contact jessica.paredes@vanderbilt.edu.

We hope to see you soon!

Sincerely,

Jessica Paredes
