Job Title: Student Program Manager
Department: Academic Initiatives
Reports to: Director of Academic Initiatives
Location: 2 days a week in Palo Alto office and 3 days a week working remotely
We are actively seeking a Student Program Manager to join our team in Palo Alto! As a Student Program Manager, you will be an integral team member of the Academic Initiatives team and develop programs for students attending the Grace Hopper Celebration (GHC), the worlds largest gathering of technical women.

Reporting to the Director of Academic Initiatives, the Student Program Manager will lead the GHC Scholars program as well as other key student programs at GHC. In order to be successful in this role, you must have excellent multi-tasking skills, great communication skills, experience working with and in cross-functional teams, have the ability to be flexible, and must be proactive.
Responsibilities
- GHC Scholars program
- Manage scholarship application process including submissions portal, review process, and
- selection process.
- Manage communications and customer service with scholarship applicants as well as current
- and past GHC Scholars via customer service portal, GHC Scholar Facebook page, and mass
- emails with support from Marketing team.
- Develop plan for how to expand reach of GHC Scholars program to a more diverse set of
- applicants.
- Manage scholarship stipend process with support from Finance team.
- Collaborate with external evaluator to develop measures of impact and evaluation of GHC
- Scholars program.
- Lead planning and execution of GHC Scholar in-person events.
- Develop and implement system efficiencies to improve the GHC Scholars program.
Special Projects
- Oversee development and execution of Student Lounge at GHC.
- Manage planning and execution of Researchers Lunch.
- Minimum Qualifications, Education, and Experience
- A passion for AnitaB.org’s mission and closing the gender gap in technology.
- A demonstrated commitment to inclusion, equity and social justice with experience in
- providing support and advocacy for diverse communities (includes but not limited to: race,
- ethnicity, sexual orientation, ability and socioeconomic status).
- Experience working with students and faculty in higher education and basic understanding of
- how higher education institutions operate.
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- 5+ years relevant work experience in program management.
- Experience managing project execution in a deadline-driven environment.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal)
- A self-starter, with excellent organizational and time management skills
- Strong fluency in the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and especially using
- Excel to manipulate and analyze data
- Adept at working with and learning new database systems and various other software
- platforms
- Financial acumen to manage program budgets
- Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally with teams like Business Development,
- Marketing, IT, and Finance
- Demonstrated capacity to learn and innovate
- Strong attention to detail
- Excellent relationship management skills
- Thrives in a fast-paced, startup environment
