“Are you interested in a career in academia but have questions about what it would really be like? If so, please join us for The Effort Report Live: Your Academic Future, a podcast hosted by Dr. Roger Peng of Johns Hopkins University and Dr. Elizabeth Matsui of University of Texas at Austin.

The Effort Report podcast is an open discussion of life as an academic, providing advice and personal experience to listeners interested in following this career path. Topics covered in the past include promotion tracks, personal politics of academia, writing and reviewing grants/papers, and how to build a professional reputation. For this event, Elizabeth and Roger will be discussing what your life might look like with a career in academia, and will feature a Q&A with the hosts.

The Effort Report Live will take place Friday, January 25 from 2-3:30pm in Sarratt Student Center 216/220.

Presented by the Vanderbilt Biostatistics Graduate Student Association. For more information about this event please contact hannah.l.weeks@vanderbilt.edu. For more information about The Effort Report, visit http://theeffortreport.com or https://twitter.com/theeffortreport.”
