Qualified applicants are sought for a full-time Assistant Professor position in Biology.
Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
In addition to instructional duties, other responsibilities include assessment, mentoring and advising students, and university service. The biology faculty at Cumberland University work with biology and biochemistry majors, pre-professional and pre-nursing students, and students taking biology for a general education science credit. One focus of this position will be to build and foster a sense of community for pre-nursing students, to include mentoring, teaching biology courses in the pre-nursing curriculum, etc.
Experience
Demonstrated excellence in teaching, engagement in scholarship, and commitment to university service are highly desirable. Duties include teaching courses from Principles of Biology to upper division courses at the undergraduate level, specifically including Human Anatomy and Physiology and Microbiology. An interest in undergraduate research, excellent written and oral communication, and the willingness and ability to work collaboratively with others is required.
Education
Terminal Degree and 18 graduate hours in Biology required.
