FDA’s Staff Fellowship Program
Staff fellows encourage and promote research/regulatory review, studies, and investigations related to health. Related health areas include medical, physical, biological, mathematical, social (economic and others), biometric, epidemiological, behavioral, and computer sciences directly related to the mission of the Agency. Depending on the amount and quality of experience possessed by a candidate, he or she may be hired as a Staff Fellow or a Senior Staff Fellow.
- To qualify as a Staff Fellow, you must be a United States Citizen or resident alien, and possess a Ph.D. or equivalent degree, for example, M.D., V.M.D. or Sc.D., and less than two (2) years of post-doctoral health-related research/regulatory review experience.
- To qualify as a Senior Staff Fellow, you must be a United States Citizen or resident alien, and possess a Ph.D. or equivalent degree for example, M.D., V.M.D. or Sc.D., and more than two (2) years of post-doctoral health-related research/regulatory review experience.
- In addition to the above education and experience requirements, you must either have been awarded your doctoral degree in a bio-medical, behavioral, or related science or have been certified by a university as meeting all the requirements leading to such a doctorate; must meet any applicable licensure requirements; and must meet any specialized experience requirements for the scientific position for which you are seeking.
- A Staff Fellow is hired equivalent to the pay grades of a General Schedule (GS) 9 step 1 up to a 12, step 10, and Senior Staff Fellow equivalent to a 13 step 1 up to a 15 step 10.
