Reports to: Director, Data Content
Location: U.S.

BioCentury, a global business intelligence company serving the biopharmaceutical industry and investors, is seeking a Senior Analyst, Data Content to create data-based content that “tells a story” through data, and to provide data content to support written analyses and presentations across BioCentury’s platform.

 

KEY JOB OBJECTIVE

The senior analyst will work inside the Editorial group, carrying out assignments both alone and in collaboration with other analysts to provide data-based value-add information on trends, breakthroughs and opportunities related to drug development and the biopharma industry. The scope covers drug development, including, for example, biological targets and pathways, clinical results and regulatory designations, as well as public and private financing, M&A and deal activity, and global policy issues relevant to biopharma companies.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Gather and analyze data from internal and external databases to create high-impact content that presents complex subject matter simply, and/or tells a story through data
  • Gather and analyze data to support other written content from writers and editors
  • Design new forms of data visualization to present analysis in compelling formats that convey a message clearly and succinctly
  • Collaborate with BioCentury’s Technology and Production groups to identify new data visualization tools and approaches to gathering and organizing data, and to ensure a seamless process for presenting the output on all digital platforms

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Advanced degree or equivalent experience in biomedical science, finance or business analytics
  • Experience in data visualization and presentation of complex data
  • Experience in navigating complex, specialized databases
  • Experience using PowerBI and/or equivalent platforms is important
  • Familiarity with data sources such as clinicaltrials.gov, EDGAR, orange book, red book, PACER or PubMed is an advantage

This is a full-time position located in the U.S. The Company’s main office is in Redwood City, Calif., but working from a home office is possible. The position requires working across multiple time zones with stakeholders or staff throughout the U.S., Europe and Asia.
