Volunteer to be a judge at the Middle Tennessee Science and Engineering Fair 2021

Posted by on Tuesday, March 9, 2021 in Announcements .

Belmont University is again hosting the Middle Tennessee Science and Engineering Fair – this year on Saturday April 10, 2021.  This virtual afternoon event will begin with a brief keynote address at 1:00 pm followed by judging of student project presentations in Zoom breakout rooms facilitated by Zoom navigator volunteers.  Each student will have 8 minutes to present their project and 2-4 minutes for questions from judges.  All student presentations will be recorded.  Participants under 13 yo will have a parent/guardian/teacher present with them during the judging period.

We anticipate the event to run until 6:00 pm but that will be partly dependent on how many entries we have. There will be a time afterwards for judges to confer to decide the winners for each category.

There will be a few other differences this year and we will let judges know about those as details are finalized.  We would appreciate your participation as a judge if you are available.

Many career scientists have said that one of the most significant experiences in their youth was their interaction with a science fair judge. Please consider participating as a MTSEF judge in one or more of the categories.  To volunteer, please go to the RSVP link below. The Middle School projects are not judged by category, but we usually need a lot of judges for these 3 grade levels.

Thanks for considering being a MTSEF judge and making a difference in lives of young scientists in our area.
