Location: Remote – US-based

Fellowship Program Overview:

PRIME’s PhD Fellowship program provides pre-doctoral PhD students a hands-on opportunity to work on engaging, high-impact projects and learn medical and grant writing, research-informed approaches to medical education, and transformative systems-based quality improvement research. Specifically, as a participant in the program, fellows will be embedded within the Scientific Affairs team to:

  • Research, design, and develop high-caliber, scientifically accurate, and up-to-date medical and scientific content, such as presentation slide decks, interactive video program scripts, print monographs, and case studies, collaborating with internal clinical staff and external key opinion leaders
  • Participate in landscape research and analysis, as well as grant planning and development to address unmet educational and healthcare needs
  • Support outcomes measurement of high-impact educational programs, including measurement planning, survey development, and interpretation of key findings
  • Contribute to development of scientific articles, abstracts, and outcomes-based presentations and publications to extend the sustainability and scalability of educational initiatives

The fellowship is designed to support pre-doctoral students in development of core competencies for career readiness in alignment with the National Association of Colleges and Employers. As such, fellows participating in this program will gain experience in:

  • Communication: Scientific grant and medical writing, including conveying clinical evidence and complex information in a clear and concise manner
  • Critical Thinking: Conducting research to identify healthcare gaps and educational needs and applying creative skills to develop innovative educational designs and research interventions to address identified gaps
  • Teamwork: Working in a collaborative, fast-paced environment
  • Professionalism: Delivering multi-channel educational designs and deliverables efficiently, fluently, and accurately

Qualifications:

  • Enrolled in a PhD program (3rd year or beyond) in biomedical sciences or a related field with anticipated graduation within 12-18 months
  • Ability to make a 9 to 12-month commitment to the fellowship and work 10-30 hours per week (based on student availability) throughout the duration of the program
  • Highly motivated self-starter
  • Excellent interpersonal and English communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Organized and detail-oriented
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including PowerPoint and Word

Compensation & Structure:

PRIME will be accepting applications between September 27, 2021 and November 15, 2021. Fellowships begin on a rolling basis. Scheduling is flexible, though fellows are expected to work 10-30 hours per week for 9-12 months based on student availability. Each fellow will be paid $30/hour, paid semi-monthly. This position is remote.
