Our February PhD Career Stories speaker will be Dr. Ryan Bender, PhD FACMGG. He is currently the Director of Molecular Operations at NeoGenomics Laboratories, Inc.

Dr. Ryan Bender is the Division Vice President of Pharma Services Molecular Operations and is based out of the NeoGenomics Laboratory located in La Jolla, CA. The La Jolla laboratory focuses on high-throughput large-scale genomic and transcriptomic profiling using NGS and SNP array technology. Ryan is responsible for coordinating the overall molecular operation for the Pharma Services division as well as providing technical direction for the clinical molecular operation and directing the variant science team. Ryan has over 10 years of experience in clinical molecular operations with previous positions at Caris Life Sciences and Genoptix. Ryan earned his Ph.D. in Biochemistry from Vanderbilt University, completed a fellowship in Clinical Molecular Genetics at Harvard Medical School, and is a certified Clinical Molecular Geneticist by the American Board of Clinical Genetics and Genomics.
