Posted by on Wednesday, March 2, 2022 in Job Opportunities .

UMass Chan Medical School is looking to fill multiple positions!  Though all candidates are welcome, the Senior Program Manager and Assistant Dean positions, in particular, are both designed for people with experience, and may be a good fit for many of you looking for a new role. All open positions are linked below.

Location: Worcester, MA

Open positions:
Candidates from backgrounds historically under-represented or marginalized in biomedical research are strongly encouraged to apply.

Assistant Dean, Career and Professional Development, Morningside Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences (GSBS)
The Assistant Dean for Career and Professional Development, reporting to the Dean, is responsible for the development and management of career development programs and services for GSBS students and postdocs, including continued evolution of our novel curricular approach to career development.

Team for transformational culture change to increase diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) within our institution
We are seeking to hire two positions (Sr. Program Manager and Sr. Scientific Writer) to join our team as we develop a new, cohort-based Investigator Career Advancement Program (iCAP). Both positions will play key roles in development of this program for early-career tenure-track faculty in the biomedical sciences, which will be composed of structured mentorship, sponsorship, and a tailored curriculum that will empower their scientific and professional development, as well as facilitate their social and cultural integration into our larger UMass Chan scientific community. A third open position (Program Manager) will coordinate other aspects of the broader initiative (including inclusive and equitable faculty recruitment and hiring).

These three positions are housed in the Office of Health Equity, under the Vice-Provost for Health Equity, and all will include interactions with the Diversity and Inclusion Office and Office of Faculty Affairs, in addition to other campus units. This initiative builds from ongoing momentum across levels of the UMass campus – including departments and leadership – to diversify our faculty while supporting their early sense of belonging, wellness, and career advancement. Flexible employment arrangements may be considered.
