Manager, Business Analytics
Key Job Objectives
The BioCentury Manager of Business Analytics is responsible for improving BioCentury’s business processes, products and services through data and process analysis, the development of business requirements, and the implementation, use, and management of tools that support internal and customer processes and data analysis.
Responsibilities
The Manager of Business Analytics is expected to understand the Company’s commercial process and information needs with a focus on product management, commercial data management, marketing, sales and customer success; and to translate those needs into process definitions and requirements for the Business Analysis Group and/or the Company’s Development team to implement. Specific responsibilities include:
- Implement business requirements through configuration and management of business systems, and through coordination with the Technology team as needed; responsible for project management, roll-out and adoption of new features, processes, technology and enhancements.
- Collaborating with Project Owners to document business requirements required by Project Managers and Developers to execute projects; to inform UI/UX decisions; and to support marketing and sales operations’ go-to-market plans for new or enhanced products and services.
- Collaborating with other departments inside BioCentury to build customer-facing analytic tools and dashboards for deployment on BioCentury’s business intelligence platform.
- Addressing issues related to the Company’s technical and analytical business systems to ensure resolution; identifying recurring points of failure to drive internal improvements to reduce issues and improve efficiency. Providing day-to-day support of business systems.
- Leveraging an understanding of the business, technology and available data to identify new insights and processes that can be used to improve BioCentury’s business.
- Maintain and improve customer, prospect and sales activity data quality while adhering to company privacy policies and legal requirements.
- Improving access to sales, service and marketing analytics to drive business decisions and improvement. Ensuring the CRM and related commercial information comply with relevant laws and Company policies, particularly as regards the Company’s Privacy Policy rules for collection and use of personal information.
Qualifications
- Minimum five years’ business analytics and/or business systems management; experience with business systems like CRM, CMS, email marketing and reporting/analytics a plus
- Knowledge of Power Apps and Power Automate; experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 CRM a plus
- Data modeling; knowledge of SQL and data transformation tools
- Process modeling
- Ability to create dashboards and reports using analytics tools like PowerBI
- Ability to interact with people in all functional areas, to gather and document requirements and business needs, manage adoption, and provide support and training
- Strong project and process management skills, attention to detail
- Strong communications skills
- The ability to work independently and remotely in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
- The ability to work across multiple time zones with Company staff, contractor
This is a full-time position.
The Company’s main office is in Redwood City, Calif., but working remotely in the U.S. or Europe is possible.

Data Analyst
Key Job Objectives
The Data Analyst (1) provides analysis of data to support decision making, (2) creates analytic tools for our customers, (3) supports internal business systems and (4) creates business requirements that support the successful development and implementation of solutions to meet those requirements.
Responsibilities
The Business Analyst (1) creates business requirements that support the successful development and implementation of solutions to meet those requirements, (2) supports internal business systems and (3) provides analysis of data to support decision making. Specific responsibilities include:
- Documenting internal and customer business requirements; translating those needs into process definitions and requirements for the technology team to implement or implementing directly through system configuration; and supporting the roll-out and adoption of new features, processes, technology, and enhancements.
- Documenting business requirements required by Project Managers and Developers to execute projects; informing UI/UX decisions; and supporting marketing and sales operations’ go-to-market plans for new or enhanced products and services.
- Tracking and responding to issues related to internal business systems and processes to ensure adequate and timely resolution.
- Creating reports and dashboards and providing data analysis to support business operations and senior management.
- Providing training and support to internal users.
- Participating in end user testing of new features and bug fixes.
Qualifications
- 2+ years’ experience creating business requirements and/or supporting business systems such as CRM, marketing automation, analytic/reporting tools, CMS.
- Data modeling; knowledge of SQL and data transformation tools
- Process modeling
- Ability to create dashboards and reports using analytics tools like PowerBI
- Ability to interact with people in all functional areas, to gather and document requirements and business needs, and manage adoption
