Posted by on Wednesday, January 4, 2023 in Announcements .

The Montefiore Einstein Cancer Center (MECC) ExCEL Committee is pleased to announce the inaugural ExCEL Scholar Award competition. Up to four exceptional postdoctoral investigators will be invited to visit Einstein and the MECC on March 14, 2023 to share their work in a half-day research symposium. Scholars will have the opportunity to network with faculty and trainees to learn more about research at Einstein.

We seek candidates with outstanding research achievements who have research interests that align with the four core MECC Cancer Programs: Tumor Microenvironment and Metastasis; Stem Cell and Cancer Biology; Cancer Therapeutics; and Cancer Epidemiology, Prevention & Control. We specifically encourage women and candidates from historically underrepresented groups to apply. Current postdoctoral fellows at Albert Einstein College of Medicine are ineligible.

Applications must be received by January 24, 2023.

Application components include
(i) a letter of recommendation from the postdoctoral mentor or another faculty member with direct knowledge of the postdoc’s research emailed directly to excelsymposium@einsteinmed.edu
(ii) a single PDF file from the candidate with the following materials:
1. A complete curriculum vitae, including a bibliography
2. One-page summary (500 words maximum) of the candidate’s research accomplishment and the significance of these accomplishments within the research field in which the candidate works.
3. One-page summary (500 words maximum) of the candidate’s future research goals. The top of this page should explicitly state all the applicable MECC Research Program(s) that align with the candidate’s research interests.

Please send all documents to excelsymposium@einsteinmed.edu.

Questions regarding the application for the ExCEL Scholar Award competition should be addressed to: excelsymposium@einsteinmed.edu.
