PhD Career Stories: Career in the FBI
Join us in hearing from Dr. Cary Rue for our first PhD Career Stories for 2023
Dr. Cary Rue is a Supervisory Microbiologist in the Scientific Response and Analysis Unit of the FBI Laboratory. He manages the operational biology program that directs the collection of evidence in hazardous crime scenes. Prior to joining the FBI in 2010, Dr Rue worked for the USDA where he researched the innate immune response to Newcastle disease virus. Dr Rue studied the innate immune response of cytomegalovirus as a postdoctoral fellow in Oregon Health Sciences University, and received his PhD in Molecular Microbiology from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis where he researched pseudorabies virus glycoproteins.
