Science Forward: Towards Inclusive Excellence in Academia
A symposium to increase diversity, expand inclusion and uphold equity in basic science research at New York State’s academic research institutions. The symposium will be held at Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory on Long Island, NY, on March 20th and 21st, 2023. Top applicants will be selected to join a strong cohort of basic science researchers to engage in our two-day symposium with travel costs covered by AMSNY.
Participant eligibility:
- Post-doctoral researchers in basic science research
- Tenure-track early career faculty in basic science research
- Non-tenured track early-stage faculty (I.e. Instructors)
- Actively engaged in diversity, equity, inclusion efforts at respective institutions
- Currently working at a US academic institution
Application review:
Applications will be reviewed by experts in diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) to determine the applicant’s active commitment to DEI in the basic sciences.
