Ashley Brady, Ph.D. Assistant Dean of Biomedical Career Engagement and Strategic Partnerships Associate Professor of Medical Education and Administration |
As a graduate student or postdoc you are by definition in a training role and thus will be moving into a position within the near future. When you finally get that first job offer, should you negotiate? When does the negotiation process begin and what aspects of the job are negotiable? In this session we will discuss the importance of negotiation at all career stages and break down the anatomy of the negotiation process so you know when to start, how to proceed, and how to avoid potential pitfalls. You will gain confidence in your ability to negotiate and learn how to view negotiation in a way that makes you feel good about engaging in the process and advocating for yourself.
