Announcing! New “Strategies for Effective Public Engagement” course

The “Strategies for Effective Public Engagement” (SEPE), a new online video course developed by the Yale Ciencia Academy (YCA) for Professional Development in collaboration with CienciaPR, the Science Communication Lab, and iBiology.
 
SEPE comprises 10 short videos that introduce essential concepts that provide practical tips for planning and executing effective public engagement projects. The course is centered on reflexivity and ethical engagement, taking the audiences and practitioner’s culture and identity in mind. At the end of the course, students receive a certificate of completion and a digital badge to post on social media, showcasing their newfound knowledge and skills.
 
SEPE is now available, and we would appreciate your help in sharing this email and the attached flyer among your graduate students, undergraduate alumni, mentees, colleagues, and others who could benefit from it. This course is perfect for scholars, researchers, practitioners, or anyone interested in effective public engagement. A preview of the course can be found here.
 
This course is part of the Yale Ciencia Academy, a year-long online and in-person program that equips biomedical, health and behavioral sciences doctoral students with the knowledge, skills, and networks they need to complete their degree and transition to  positions that further their scientific interests and career goals. YCA also offers group guidance and discussion for SEPE and other video modules, online sessions with professional experts, and one-on-one mentoring and peer-mentoring opportunities.
