Posted by on Friday, July 28, 2023 in Announcements .

We have an opportunity for postdoctoral trainees and senior graduate students (4th year and above) to act as assistant facilitators in the first-year IGP curriculum from August 21st – October 20th. During the 9-week period when the assistant facilitators will be involved, the coursework will cover topics within the central dogma, genetics, and cell signaling.

Assistant facilitators will help run discussion sessions with groups of ~12 students, facilitate the sharing of peer feedback, and grade some assignments. The majority of time in the groups will be focused on discussing primary research articles, with some time allocated for group problem solving and peer feedback on ideas for research proposals. Assistant facilitator responsibilities include (i) reading the assigned papers/questions and attending a weekly preparation session; (ii) facilitating 2-4 hours/week of discussion with their assigned group; (iii) grading student answers to problem set/paper-related questions using a provided answer key/rubric; and (iv) monitoring the delivery of peer feedback.

The dates and time for small group discussions will be as follows:

  • Fri, Aug 25, 9-11am
