The Department of Immunology at Harvard Medical School invites applications for a tenure- track position at the rank of Assistant Professor. We seek candidates performing creative and exciting basic and/or translational research, in any area of Immunology or interfacing fields.
Our department’s faculty members have diverse backgrounds and interests in understanding basic mechanisms of immunity and their roles in health and disease. Areas of research include autoimmunity and tolerance, cancer immunology, microbial immunity, mucosal immunology, immunometabolism, neuroimmunology, and systems immunology. Our vibrant research environment is highly interactive and collaborative, and fosters the free exchange of ideas, know-how and innovation. The Department maintains strong ties to related departments throughout Harvard University, Harvard-affiliated teaching hospitals, and the Boston academic and biotechnology community.

The successful candidate will have opportunities to teach and mentor exceptional graduate and medical students, to become a member of the training faculty in the PhD Program in Immunology, and to participate in other topic-specific PhD programs within the Harvard Integrated Life Sciences (HILS) system.

Basic Qualifications
Candidates must have a PhD, MD, or an equivalent graduate degree.

1. a concise overview of your research background and accomplishments (one page), starting with a highlight of your two most important discoveries.
2. an explanation of why you have chosen your area of focus (one half page)
3. a description of your proposed future research, with your vision for the key questions you intend to tackle, as well as specific plans for the initial focus of your lab (4 pages incl. figures)

1. a statement on teaching/mentoring (maximum 1 page)
2. a statement on diversity, equity, and inclusion (maximum 1 page)
