The National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) conducts and supports basic and applied research to better understand, treat, and ultimately prevent infectious, immunologic, and allergic diseases. The Autoimmunity and Mucosal Immunology Branch and the Allergy, Asthma, and Airway Biology Branch in the Division of Allergy, Immunology, and Transplantation (DAIT) within NIAID seek exceptional candidates to serve as health scientist administrators (program officers).

The Autoimmunity and Mucosal Immunology Branch (AMIB) plans and manages a broad portfolio of solicited grant initiatives, investigator-initiated grants, and contracts focused on basic and clinical research in autoimmune and primary immunodeficiency disorders and mucosal immunology. The knowledge generated by this portfolio is used to develop new diagnostics, prevention, and therapeutic approaches for individuals who suffer from these diseases.

The successful candidate will be responsible for scientific and administrative management of grants/contracts in support of autoimmune disease research. This position offers unique and exciting opportunities to provide scientific and administrative management of grants/contracts in support of autoimmune disease research.

Candidates with a broad background/expertise in immunology relevant to autoimmunity/autoimmune disease or in immunoregulation and immune mechanisms relevant to autoimmune disease are encouraged to apply.
