Postdoctoral Research Associate Positions in Proteomics and multiomics in Neurodegeneration
Are you passionate about advancing the understanding of neurodegenerative diseases? The Cruchaga Lab at Washington University School of Medicine is excited to announce multiple openings for Postdoctoral Research Scientists. Their lab focuses on generating and analyzing high throughput multi-omic data to study Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, and other dementias.
About the Cruchaga Lab
At the Cruchaga Lab, their mission is to understand the biology of neurodegenerative diseases, define novel biomarkers, and identify new therapeutic targets. They pioneer in integrating genetics with comic data to uncover proteomic signatures and develop predictive models for Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, and Dystonia.
Key Responsibilities and Research Areas
Their current projects include:
- Analyzing brain, CSF, and blood multi-omic data (transcriptomics, proteomics, and metabolomics)
- Identifying biomarkers using machine learning approaches
- Integrating multi-omics data with genomics, transcriptomics, and methylomics
They are seeking motivated researchers with strong analytical skills to generate novel insights into neurodegeneration using their unique datasets.
Qualifications
They are looking for candidates who:
- Hold or are about to obtain a PhD in Genetics, Bioinformatics, Computer Science, Data Science, Statistical Genomics, or related discipline
- Have hands-on experience with large-scale human omics studies, preferably related to neurodegeneration
- Possess solid programming skills in R, Python, or Peri, and experience in Linux/high performance cluster environments
- Have the ability to perform analytical reasoning to extract biological insights and familiarity with publicly available resources
Why Join Them?
Dr. Cruchaga’s lab offers a collaborative, well-funded environment with ongoing support from the National Institue of Aging, CZI, and the pharmaceutical industry. Their team, consisting of over 20 members, is led by three faculty members and three senior scientists, providing a vibrant and supportive atmosphere for scientific innovation.
Benefits
They offer competitive salaries and comprehensive benefits. For more details, please visit the Human Resources website here, and learn more about being a postdoc at Washinton University in St. Louis here.
