Job Posting: Staff Scientist, Translational Nanobiology Section of the Center for Cancer Research (CCR), National Cancer Institute (NCI), MD
The Translational Nanobiology Section of the Center for Cancer Research (CCR) at the National Cancer Institute (NCI) is leading efforts to comprehensively analyze extracellular vesicle subsets to determine which extracellular molecular components and signatures modulate anti-tumor immune responses and which may be targeted to improve cancer patient outcomes.
We are seeking a Staff Scientist with extensive tumor immunology and extracellular vesicle subset phenotyping experience to lead studies investigating extracellular vesicles as determinants of metastatic tumor spread and modulation of anti-tumor immune responses. Successful Section members enthusiastically learn and develop new areas of expertise and are highly collaborative, creative, conscientious, and self-motivated. Advanced skills with preclinical tumor models, extracellular vesicle isolation and subset analysis, flow cytometry, and data analysis are required in this position.
This full-time training position is available beginning October 1, 2023. The position requires at least 8 years of directly relevant research experience in tumor immunology and extracellular vesicles, preceded by an M.D., D.V.M, Ph.D., or combination thereof in immunology, molecular/cell biology, liquid biopsies, genetics, experimental pathology, bioinformatics, and/or related biomedical research. Prior publications and well- established expertise in tumor biology, immunology, systems biology, and/or experimental pathology are required. It is required that the Staff Scientist prioritizes efforts to enthusiastically guide and engage in research at the interface of a wide range of disciplines to advance insights into tumor immunology and to build new foundations for extracellular vesicle research.
Applicants should send a cover letter describing your research experience and interests, CV (with bibliography and start/end dates for all positions), and contact information for three references no later than August 11, 2023 to: Dr. Jennifer Jones, email: jennifer.jones2@nih.gov
